Working through the Christmas period, we were asked to repair and restore the floor of a great hall. This hall is used for all manner of functions, conventions, fundraisers and more, and the floor had definitely seen better days when we got there. In particular, the parquet pieces near the service elevator had come loose and would need to be repaired and/or replaced.
With the repairs identified and made, we could move onto sanding the floor. It took several passes and many hours, but the difference was immediate and dramatic.
There were several floorboxes throughout the hall that also required repairs and needed new lids made. We marked each lid and its location and built bespoke surfaces for each one, ensuring that the parquet pattern of the floor was not disrupted.
Then, it was time to seal and protect the floor with a water based lacquer. The client called for a satin finish and we were more than happy to oblige.
